Among hundreds and thousands of skin care products, there are a few essentials, that, applied correctly and in the right order, help the skin in an efficient way. So, if we want our skin to be hydrated, smooth and radiant we must respect both the skin care routine and the order of the following 5 skin care essentials products:
1. Make-up Remover
At the heart of any skin care routine, make-up remover should always be applied first. Whichever type of make-up remover we choose, we must be careful to remove impurities and clean the pores of the face as much as possible. In this way, a clean complexion will be able to absorb the cosmetics to be applied. Without removing the make-up, any product we apply will be in vain.
Cleansing should be done both in the evening (to remove make-up and impurities during the day) as in the morning. (To remove sweat and sebum accumulated during the night)
2. Tonic Lotions
Applying a toning lotion is the second essential cosmetic product in your skin care routine. It should be applied immediately after cleansing the skin. Even if the tonic lotion should be chosen to be alcohol-free, the eye area should be avoided.
Allow the product to absorb into the skin before moving on to the next product.
3. Eye Contour Creme
The eye contour is an essential area in skin care. The fragile skin under the eyes needs moisturizers applied in a gentle way. Aggressive massaging should be avoided. Eye creams are a must-have in the care kit, regardless of age. They help to moisturize the skin and delay the visible signs of ageing, as well as keeping the skin supple and firm for longer.
4. Serum
Serum is a cosmetic product that is applied to the skin before moisturizer and works at the level of deeper skin cells thanks to small molecules that can deliver a high amount of active ingredients where needed. It can more easily fade wrinkles.
When to apply the serum and how often? Once or twice a day, after the face cleansing step but always before the night or day face cream. Always use a serum according to your skin type and needs.
5. Day Cream and Night Cream
The creams are applied to the entire skin surface, avoiding the eye area (which requires a cream specially designed for contouring). Day creams generally have a non-greasy structure and can even be used as a make-up base. Day creams help the skin to retain moisture, neutralize free radicals and provide UV protection.
Night creams differ in texture from day creams, the latter having a smoother texture. The role of night creams is to penetrate the skin deeply and for a longer period of time. Among the ingredients that differentiate them from day creams are retinol and alpha-hydroxy. These ingredients are photosensitive and cannot be used in day creams.
Always choose cosmetics based on your skin type for a properly groomed and radiant complexion!
