Got Strawberry Legs? Get a Consultation for Laser Hair Removal

Mar 12, 2025

If you spend a lot of time on social media, you’ve probably heard the term “strawberry legs” used for the small, dark bumps that sometimes appear on your skin. But maybe, when you’ve tried to find out more, you’ve realized this isn’t an actual, medical condition.

At Colorado Skin Care, though, we know some conditions, while not technically harmful, can make you self-conscious. We’ve seen this with many of our patients, which is why we recommend laser hair removal for strawberry legs.

This treatment can make it much easier to deal with any conditions that cause flare-ups and avoid the behaviors that sometimes create them.

Our provider, Kimberly Stone, MD, and the rest of our staff want you to feel and look your best. We’d be happy to discuss the many benefits of laser hair removal with you today!

The lowdown on strawberry legs

Though you might hear about strawberry legs often on TikTok or Instagram, it isn’t a condition in and of itself. The small, dark bumps that look like the seeds of a strawberry can be caused by a number of different conditions and behaviors.

Keratosis pilaris

Keratosis pilaris is a condition where you have small, hard goosebumps on your skin. It’s a benign condition that tends to run in families. Unfortunately, it can’t be cured, but it can be managed with moisturizers, and, in some cases, steroid creams prescribed by a doctor.

Folliculitis

Folliculitis is another condition that can create the effect of strawberry legs. It’s the inflammation of hair follicles, which can sometimes create an infection. Shaving and waxing can create folliculitis, especially if you’re shaving with a dull razor that causes razor burn. A good rule of thumb is to always shave with a sharp, new razor and avoid inflamed follicles.

Other problems

Ingrown hairs, acne, and even very dry skin can all lead to the appearance of strawberry legs. Sometimes, these issues all appear at the same time. But talking to a provider can allow you to determine just which underlying cause may be leading to the appearance of these small, dark bumps on your legs.

Why you should choose laser hair removal for strawberry legs

Several of these conditions, as mentioned above, can be managed at home. And while some people may see results using moisturizers, newer razors, and the like, the issue can reoccur often, making it hard to manage on your own. So, why not consider laser hair removal?

First off, laser hair removal makes it so you never have to deal with shaving or waxing again. If you have sensitive skin, it can be a much better choice than grappling with all the specificities of hair removal that avoids irritation… just to do it again a week later. With a few laser therapy treatments, you won’t have to remove hair at home any more!

Secondly, laser hair removal is safe for your skin and easy for most people to tolerate. It doesn’t cause you pain, and it allows for a real, long-term solution to the issue of strawberry legs. If you simply want a better look for your skin, you should consider this inexpensive and future-focused option.
